Landscape Architecture Magazine Assessments
Founded in 1910, is the monthly magazine of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). It is the magazine of record for the landscape architecture profession in North America, reaching more than 60,000 readers who plan and design projects valued at more than $140 billion each year. LAM is a benefit of ASLA membership, and is available in both print and digital formats by subscription, and may also be found in more than 250 bookstores around the world.
Since 2024, ASLA has released annual assessments
of greenhouse gas emissions from its headquarters operations, which
includes Landscape Architecture Magazine, the ASLA Center for Landscape Architecture building, staff
business travel and commuting, and ASLA's LABash student conference:

Key steps taken so far:
- LAM
meets magazine industry standards for low-carbon-emission publishing and is
printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified paper.
- In 2008, LAM began co-mailing with other publications to reduce shipping-related greenhouse gas emissions.
- And since 2009, LAM has been offered . ASLA encourages its members to migrate from print to
digital versions to cut down shipping-related emissions.
